About Me
What’s your deal anyway?
Great question! I have an art direction background. BUT… I love writing. I wrote sketch comedy at UCB (and other places) in New York for awhile. I direct things now and again.
My favorite thing (besides my family) is an idea that makes me go “WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW.” Yes, I literally say that every time I see a cool idea. My eyes turn into hearts. My tongue rolls out of my mouth. I stomp my feet and whistle. It’s unnerving but that’s my style. Yesterday my coworker called me a “golden retriever.”
Let’s talk art and creative direction.
Sure thing. For me it’s about solving a business problem deftly, stylistic pizzazz, and creating an atmosphere for everyone involved that invites great work to be made.
Being part of a team is at the center of all of it. It’s like being in a garage rock band. Except instead of a garage it’s a downtown office. And instead of making rock ‘n roll, we’re making marketing materials for various brands and corporations to plug into their media plan. It’s great job.
Now to the important stuff. If you were a celebrity which celebrity would you be?
Hamburglar.
Do you have a hot take ready for us?
I think True Detective Season 2 is good. I like it and I don’t care what anyone thinks.
Booooooooo! Why would you put that out there for people to read???
Because I’m the Bad Boy of Advertising. 😈
Yuck. Say something about your “creative process” so we can end this thing on a “high note.”
Some creatives start with imagery, but for me it starts with words. Words become blurbs. Blurbs become Google Slides. Google Slides become campaigns. I guess my process is “make a lot of Google Slides.”
Wow. That’s inspiring. Any final thoughts?
Robble robble.
